Advanced Settings

• Read IO:ASPI/SPTI/LIBC are selectable.
  
  
• LIBC: Designed for reading early DVDs. It reads DVD with Window API; the reading speed is higher than other mode, but it can't skip bad sectors.
  
  
• ASPI: Designed for reading the latest DVDs with new copy protection, such as Sony or Disney DVDs. It reads DVD with wnaspi32.dll which would control the DVD drive directly and skip bad sector quickly.
  
  
• SPTI: It is an alternative of ASPI. It reads DVD with windows SCSI interface, high reading speed and skip bad sectors quickly. The default is ASPI.
  
  
• Value of skipping bad sectors:
  In order to improve the reading speed, DVD-Cloner will skip over some bad sectors automatically in the reading progress. You can set a skipping value between 0~10000. The bigger the value is, the higher the reading speed will be. But big value may result it more valuable data losses. If you are not sure whether there are some bad sectors in your DVD, please use the default, 100.
  
  
• Reading Speed:
  Adjust the reading speed. If you set it to "high", it will read fast but occupy a lot of system resource. If you set it to "low", it will read slowly but occupy a relatively smaller system resource. If your computer slows down during the reading process, set a lower reading speed. The default is mid.
  
  
• Burning Speed:
  Set the burning speed. Please note that the burning speed should match the DVD R/RW you use. The default is Maximum-- to use the highest speed compatible with the disc.
  
  
• Screen ratio:
  Adjust the screen ratio. Except for special need, Auto select is highly recommended. The default is Auto select.
  
  
• D5 Disc size:
  Set the size of target D5. Adjusting this value will affect DVD compression rate. Please do not exceed the DVD R/RW's biggest capacity that you bought. The default is 4300M.
  
  
• Compression rate of special features:
  When playing a copy that cloned by 'Movie complete copy', if you found the picture of special features is coarse, you can increase the compress rate properly to get a better picture effect. But higher compress rate needs bigger saving space, and finally makes the quality of the main movie decrease. The default is 30%.
  
  
• Number of copies: You can define the number of discs to be burned.
  
  
• Temporary directory:
  The temporary directory will be used when setting the copying mode. Pleas note that the temporary directory should be in the NTFS partition (in "my computer", right click the disc driver and choose the "properties" to see whether the driver is in the NTFS partition. The default is to use the disc driver with the largest free space.
  
  
• Keep menus when Movie Split to two D5 discs:
  If this option is selected,the menu and extras of the original movie will be copied to the first DVDR.The default is in the chosen state.
  
  
• Enable Smart Analyser before reading disc:
  To crack the latest dvd encryption,DVD-Cloner need to scan the disc before reading data to decide which data need to be read. The default is in the chosen state.
  
  
• Enble Windows auto-play CD/DVD function:
  To decode some specially encrypted DVDs, DVD-Cloner has to close the automatic play function of DVD driver. When it needs to close it, a prompt will appear. You can resume or close the automatic play function manually with this switch. Please note that this option will come into effect only after rebooting your computer.
  
  
• Authenticate DVD region when DVD-Cloner start:
  If this item is chosen, freeing region will automatically begin when starting DVD-Cloner. Please note that freeing region is necessary before copying. If this item is cancelled, you must use players such as power DVD to play and then start DVD-Cloner to make the backup. Otherwise an error prompt will appear. The default is in the chosen state.
  
  
• Check update automatically every month:
  This aims to keep you informed of the latest DVD-Cloner. Having chosen this item, the program will check for the latest version per month. The default is in the chosen state.
  
  
• Delete temporary files when finished:
  If this item is chosen, the temporary film file will be deleted automatically after the copying completes. Please note that no warning prompt will appear during the deletion. The default is in the chose state.
  
  
• Display About window when starts:
  This means to copy under the Expert interface. If this item is chosen, click "Start" and the task confirmation window will pop up. The default is in the chosen state.
  
  
• Download Blu-ray/HD DVD Copy Helper automatically
  Click on it and DVD-cloner will download the Blu-ray/HD DVD Copy Helper automatically when a Blu-ray disc or HD DVD is founded.
