A lot of company add some protected technology on the DVD disc, so as to forbid pirate copy of their movie, like Disney, Sony. The most popular protection is CSS-encrypt, Sony Arccos.
- CSS: Content Scramble System, almost all commercial DVD use this protected technology. Which was famously cracked many years ago by “DVD Jon”.
- RCE: Region code enhancement, DVD disc has a region code which allow this DVD disc effective area can be played.
- ArccOS: Sony introduced ARccOS protection, which are some bad sector in parts of DVD disc.

Copy Disney DVD to Hard Drive: |
| Step1: Double click DVD-Cloner V. |
| DVD-Cloner will enter the Expert interface automatically. In this mode, you can copy Disney DVD disc to hard drive by choose related IO. DVD-Cloner also has beginner mode - Express. |
| Step2: Settings for Disney DVD to hard drive copying. |
| Choose ASPI in the Read IO item to copy Disney DVD. ASPI can insure the latest DVD and protected DVD copying. It also can skip bad sector. ASPI is the default setting. |

Read IO also has LIBC and SPTI item:
- LIBC: Copy early DVDs with highest copying speed, but don't support bad sector skipping.
- SPTI: Alternative of ASPI and LIBC. It has high reading speed and skipping bad sector ability.

| You also can setting the value of bad sector skipping, reading speed, burning speed, screen ratio, D5 disc size, saving rate and number of copies. If you are a beginner, please keep down the default settings of other items. |
| Then click "OK" to save the settings. |
| Step3: Make sure source and target. |
| Insert your Disney DVD movie disc to DVD drive, then click the source drop-down bar to choose this Disney disc for source file. Then click the target folder button to choose a folder to save your target DVD file. This folder size is at least as same as this Disney disc. |
