- DVD-9: A DVD-9 (dual layer) disc and hold 240 minutes of continuous video. DVD+R supports this format. The size is 7.95 GB.
- DVD-5: A DVD-5 disc will hold nominally 133 minutes of high quality MPEG-2 encoded video, together with three surround-sound audio channels and four subtitle channels. Its size is 4.37 GB.

| Step1: Run DVD-Cloner. |

| Step2: Insert a DVD-9 disc to DVD drive. |
| Step3: Select source path and target path. |
| Click the drop-down bar of the first box to select the source DVD-9 disc. |
- If you have another DVD burner, please insert your DVD-5 disc to it.
- If not, please click the folder button on the right of the second box to select a folder to save the file.

| Step4: Click the start button to split DVD-9 to DVD-5. |

Then DVD-Cloner will read the data, a reading window will pop up. This process will finished in 30 to 40 minuts. Then DVD-Cloner will ejects the DVD drive automatically. Insert your blank DVD5 disc to it. |
| Then DVD-Cloner will start burning. |

| Then it will eject automatically, insert another DVD-5 disc to DVD drive. It will finished in 10 minuts. |
